We need a
clinic in Glasgow once again. I've tried to keep up with the
requests for s/n for pets and feral cats since the last clinic in
our sanctuary, September 2006, by taking cats to out of town
clinics. KK has limited our numbers for their clinic, to 10. Taking
cats to Help for Homeless Pets in Billings has increased our options
and they have been very generous in letting us bring up to 20 cats.
The gas costs are, of course, much higher when traveling to
Billings.
Holding our own clinic in
Glasgow saves us money, allows us to s/n more animals, and allows us
a margin that helps pay for the sanctuary food and litter. We should
be able to offer a clinic that will s/n both cats and dogs. Diana
Scollard, our vet, said that she can bring a vet who will do the
dogs.
She wanted to do a clinic for us
in January, but it wasn't possible to organize the people, facility
and processes needed to make a successful clinic, before January. It
would be good to offer training sessions for cleaning ears and
clipping nails, not to mention creating the procedures we need to
develop and follow to ensure smooth intake, recovery, record
keeping, and check out.
Diana Scollard isn't available
in February, and I'm going to ask her if she and another vet will be
able to do a clinic for us in *March.*(Schedule
has NOT been set as of yet, once it has been, we will advise)
Please call me or reply by e-mail if you will
be able to help with planning and putting on a s/n clinic in March.
Also, I hope you'll be able to talk to people you know, who would be
interested in helping with this essential community service.
We've
spayed/neutered 591 cats and 18 dogs in the last 4 years. Having a
clinic here in March could make that number increase by 100.
